Quilts of Valour - Canada & Red Red Bobbin

“Valour
” for us Canadians includes a U. It may also include “you” as a quilt maker. If you would like to donate a quilt to this worthy program, bring your quilt top, backing and batting to Red Red Bobbin and we will quilt it - it’s as simple as that.

My son returned uninjured from Afghanistan, but he also lost 6 buddies. We hear about those who will never walk on Canadian soil again, however there are soldiers who come home because they cannot walk at all. Let’s all support our country’s brave men and women by wearing red on Fridays, and comforting those who come home to no fanfare.

When one of our clients discovered we are part of the Quilts of Valour - Canada program she was so excited that she brought us this quilt top the same day. We were so thrilled with her response we had it quilted in 48 hours.

We encourage you to add a label to your quilt identifying all pertinent details including a prayer if you so desire.

The quilts at left are the first five quilts made for the Quilts of Valour - Canada program by the Sewing Seeds group of Waterford, Ontario. Made largely from recycled mens’ shirts and donated fabrics, the group always includes a pocket panel to help keep necessities close at hand. These quilts were quilted and bound here at the studio. The Maple Leaf quilt to the right was made for the Quilts of Valour - Canada program by members of the Brant Heritage Quilt Guild. It is one of two quilts that the Guild produced for our soldiers. Quilting was donated by Red Red Bobbin. To view the second quilt, please click BHQG#2.jpg.
