Marjorie Mansell's modern take on the traditional churn dash block was a real challenge. My first design concept fell to pieces when the foundational block pattern refused to fit properly in the appropriate place. Back to the drawing board. The symmetry of the piecing and copious negative space demanded a symmetrical quilting design approach. Marjorie loved the result and we do too!
